ABOUT

A Message from the Clinical Director

My name is Lillyana, and I look forward to accompanying you on your journey towards wellness. I am a multi-racial Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Additionally, I hold out of state tele-health registration and am able to work with clients who reside in Florida and South Carolina. I received my bachelor's degree in Studio Art and Psychology, my master’s in Mental Health Counseling at CUNY Brooklyn College, and I have been working with clients since 2017.

I chose the field of mental health because of my own personal experience as a woman with a complex post traumatic stress disorder and family of origin challenges. As a mixed race, female, who had extensive trauma history I found that navigating mental health was incredibly frustrating. I thought to myself, "it shouldn't be this difficult to find a space". After multiple bad experiences with therapists who left me feeling dismissed, invalidated and hopeless I recognized that I wanted to be part of a much needed change.

Prior to working in private practice, I worked for Henry Street Settlement's Community Consultation Center providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, teens, and adults. Through my time in the clinic setting, I was able to support my clients through various stressors: anxiety, mood disorders, trauma and c-ptsd, domestic violence, pmad, interpersonal conflict, sexuality and gender identity, self esteem, disordered eating, and personality disorders.

My private practice is primarily tele-health with a special focus of working with womxn and queer folx. We are LGBTQIA+ affirming and trauma informed. I train my clinicians in my therapeutic style because it works. I've had the honor of working with individuals who thought that life could never get better, and I've watched them flourish. My heart has been touched by my clients session after session who show up for themselves by putting in the work.
