The Next Generation of Therapists

A core part of my work is not only providing therapy but also mentoring and training the next generation of trauma-informed clinicians. I believe that the best way to create meaningful change in the mental health field is to ensure that new therapists receive the guidance, support, and education they need to grow into compassionate, skilled, and attuned practitioners.

Each year, Mindful Moments take on clinical residents—therapists in training who are deeply committed to learning and refining their clinical skills. When my caseload is full, these residents are available to provide therapy at a reduced sliding-scale fee, making mental health care more accessible while also giving them the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience.

Although they are still early in their careers, these residents are dedicated professionals who bring fresh perspectives, passion, and a deep commitment to their clients. To ensure they provide high-quality care, I, or other experienced therapists I have trained, supervise them weekly, offering guidance, case consultation, and ongoing education. This structure allows residents to feel supported as they support you, ensuring a collaborative, ethical, and growth-oriented therapeutic experience.

By choosing to work with a clinical resident, you are not only receiving compassionate and thoughtful care—you are also contributing to the development of the next generation of trauma-informed therapists, helping to shape a future where mental health care is more accessible, inclusive, and deeply attuned to the needs of those it serves.
